All RibSpan ® roof is made from premium Superlume ®, a steel substrate coated on both sides with an Aluminum-Zinc alloy. This is manufactured using our state-of-the-art Non-Oxidizing Furnace technology.
The coating is applied by means of continuous hot dip galvanizing process.
The composition of the coating alloy is 55% Aluminum, 43.4% Zinc and 1.6% Silicon.
This translates to significant cost savings for any user of products made from Superlume ®, because the coating alloy will protect the steel against corrosive environments for years.
The excellent corrosion resistance of Superlume ® is a result of combined protection of the barrier effect of Aluminum and the sacrificial or galvanic protection of Zinc on the surface of the steel.
